I didn't see a 3.75/1 gearbox listed anywhere (even on the Astro Flight web site).
I'm not interested in vertical performance, just a notch or two above the stock set up. I RAN THROUGH THE mOTOCALC NUMBERS WITH THE 010/3.33 TO ONE and it looks good. Rob demonstrated that the wings do flex nicely during hard turns and running the paces on his RENO and should not be a problem.
Who knows you may accomplish to crack the wings off. Should you be looking for wild speed and flutter as you pass by then get a MEGA or the miniA/C brushless versions. I can tell you that Dave's ZERO has much more power than mine with the 3.75:1 and it flys very nice and strong but, please.ASTRO FLIGHT is not a speed demon on these 16oz planes no matter which gearing you pick. I have the 3.75:1 gear box and pinon gear but, have not had time to pull and reconfigured as of yet. I have the 5.33:1 gearing for endurance (18 minutes in calm, 10 minutes in very windy conditions). We will try to get a video on his plane next time.įYI.I have this ASTRO FLIGHT 010 (14T) in my GWS ZERO but, it's configured a little differently than Daves' ZERO.
Lots of power and speed and very fast moves as well. Talk to Rob Mason (Rob Mason) as known in this RCGROUPS and he came with his RENO RACER to our Orlando, Florida, HOMEDEPOT Field yesterday and WOW!!! His P-51D RENO went up almost vertical with the miniAC brushless!!
